A recent survey and analysis by the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and the Energy Generation and Supply Knowledge Transfer has highlighted exciting growth prospects for the sector (http://www.ukhfca.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Hydrogen-and-fuel-cell-industry.pdf) including:
- Delivery of over 2,200 new jobs to the UK by 2020;
- The potential for fuel cells and hydrogen to preserve approximately 145,000 jobs in automotive manufacturing; and
- Expected cumulative UK annual revenues to total £1bn by 2020.
And at the global scale, Fuel Cell Today’s newly published 2012 Industry Review (http://www.fuelcelltoday.com/analysis/industry-review/2012/the-industry-review-2012 ) forecasts a three-fold increase in shipments of fuel cell systems of all types compared to 2011, and a 50% increase in the number of megawatts installed.
