Achievements
Our recent achievements have included:
- Collaboration with Prof David MacKay – Chief Scientific Advisor to DECC – to enhance awareness of the potential for fuel cells and hydrogen in a low carbon future and shape future agendas;
- Dialogue with Government to ensure that opportunities for hydrogen are not ‘locked out’ as a result of changes to energy markets (via our response to Ofgem’s Project Transmit Call for Evidence);
- Publication of a Manifesto to highlight the key role which fuel cells and hydrogen could play in addressing the Coalition Government’s priorities;
- Preparation and submission of response to the consultation on the Renewable Electricity Financial Incentives and endorsement of the industry statement in partnership with other leading trade associations on the key design principles for the feed-in tariff for microCHP;
- Regular dialogue with DECC and the Technology Strategy Board to ensure optimum outcomes for the UK fuel cell and hydrogen community; and
- Discussions with Treasury to identify appropriate support mechanisms for fuel cells over the next 5 years
